Hello 30 weeks and no sleep!

Dear Aj & Jaydyn,

Well, tomorrow is the official 30 week marker for us! Meaning we're definitely down to the wire now. The realization that I could be holding you anywhere from 5-8 weeks from now is really an exciting thought for Mommy. It's also a little bit of a scary one too. Just because I have never been a Mommy before, so you guys will be teaching me things that no one else could teach me! I just want to make sure I am the best Mommy I can be to you both!

We had another appointment today with the doctor! And it was then that it hit me, I didn't tell you boys about my last appointment when I got to see you! So let me start 2 weeks ago with that appointment.

Mommy was 1 day shy of being 28 weeks and we had gone for an ultrasound, a glucose test, and a visit. The glucose drink Mommy had to drink was so disgusting. It was so sweet that it literally burnt Mommy's throat when she drank it. But never the less, I drank it all. Then, we went to ultrasound. I was super excited to get to see you guys, but unfortunately since it's such a tight squeeze in there for you guys now, we didn't get any good pictures to be honest. But the worst part was Mommy got very sick during her ultrasound from being on my back too long. See, all of the weight from you two precious boys was pushing down on my inferior vena cava which in turn, caused Mommy's circulation to cut off and caused my blood pressure to drop very low. I had to lay on my left side, put a cold rag on my head, and wait to get up to make sure that I didn't puke since I was getting nauseated. It was a little scary to be honest. I'm glad your Daddy was with me though. He let me hold his hand and squeeze as hard as I needed to! He's the best!

So then we went off to get Mommy's blood drawn for the test, and to see the doctor. After he gave us the all clear, we left and went to get a bite to eat and head home!

So then Mommy waited to hear about her glucose blood test results. Mommy was very nervous about them considering that the PCOS can cause a bit of insulin resistance issues (insulin is the stuff that makes sure your body doesn't have too much sugar in it). Not to mention diabetes runs in Mommy's side of the family, and that Mommy found out she was pre-diabetic not long before she got pregnant with you two! But I was happy to hear on that next Wednesday after the appointment that I had passed the test with flying colors. My score was an 88, which is super good! It just made Mommy stop and realize God is so good. He blessed me with you two after doctors had said it probably wouldn't happen, He has given me great health during this pregnancy after doctors told me that two of you would make it very difficult on me...God has just blessed our little family so much already boys!

So anyways, that was 2 weeks ago. Today's appointment was less eventful. Mommy got weighed, and found out that she has gained 12lbs the entire pregnancy thus far with you two! Which is super duper good! My urine sample also came back great, my blood pressure was normal, and at 1 day shy of 30 weeks, I was measuring at 40 weeks, meaning if there were only 1 baby in there, I'd be getting ready to deliver ANY DAY now! Isn't that something! But Mommy really isn't ready to have you two any day now. You still have much more growing to do in the next few weeks. Actually Mommy would really like it if you stayed in there til about 36/37 weeks, which is considered full term as well! We will see what happens though, because Mommy can tell you two snuggle bugs already have a mind of your own!

Anyways, that's what has been going on with doctors and you guys here in the past 2 weeks or so. AS for Mommy's end of things, you guys are starting to make Mommy hurt a little bit now! I didn't get hardly any sleep last night because I couldn't get comfortable, and the heartburn is getting pretty intense. I feel like I swallowed a fireplace sometimes! And of course my back hurts. BUT despite those things, everything is going well otherwise. I'm still getting around well and cherishing these last few weeks I'll get to spend with the both of you protecting you from inside my belly.

I think that will be the only thing Mommy will dislike very much once you two get here. Not the lack of sleep or anything like that, it will just be a dislike that Mommy can't protect you from the world in the same way that she did while you were in my belly. While you are in here, your safe, your warm, your fed, and the world doesn't effect you yet. But once you are here, I can't protect you from every single thing that I am afraid will hurt you like I can while you are in my belly. I mean I can try, and I will try, believe me...but it still makes Mommy a little sad. But it's a good thing God is on our side and will always watch over and protect you guys for me, no matter what! And that is a good feeling!!

Anyways, Mommy just wanted to update really quickly. I had probably better get going. I need to help Daddy get the house picked up and cleaned up a bit, and I need to wash the curtains that will be hanging in your room so I can get them put up soon!

I love you both so much. Continue to get strong and healthy in there for Mommy, and I'll see you sooner than you think!

Love always and forever and ever,
Mommy

Hello Third Trimester!

Dear Aj & Jaydyn,

Good morning! Of course it's me your Mommy, and it's about 7:10 in the morning, which is a time Mommy doesn't see very often. Normally I'm sleeping through it. But that will change once you two make your entrance into the world anyways so!

Mommy woke up to go potty and found she couldn't go back to sleep. Something that's happening frequently here lately! I don't think you guys minded at all though! The minute I got super comfy and settled back into bed, (which is something that's getting harder to do every day since Mommy is so big now) you two started kicking and carrying on in there. Which I absolutely love. I could just lay and feel that all morning! But I think you both got comfy in there and went back to bed on Mommy! No fair! :o)

Today is our 28 week appointment, which is the one I was telling you about in our previous letter! Mommy is super excited because we get another ultrasound, which means I get to sneak a peek in on you boys just before Christmas! How exciting! Plus Daddy is able to go with us today, which makes it all the more special!

But now, Mommy wants to show you some pictures! I've been promising to show you the puppy dogs that are anxiously awaiting to meet you when you come home from the hospital with Mommy! So I'm finally getting around to adding that picture to this letter for you.

Photobucket

So on the left you have Phenix, and on the right you have Monty. Phenix is the black doggy, and Monty is the brown doggy! And these two puppies, just like you my sweet little boys, were born together. So in a way, my twins will have twin puppies! :0) But don't let the cute faces fool you, these two are partners in crime! But they're also Mommy's snuggle buddies and I'm sure will be your snuggle buddies too! I can't wait for you two to meet them!

Also, Mommy had been wanting to show you some wall art that she created herself (with the help of her best friend Sasha) for the walls in your nursery, which is just about finished by the way! I can not wait to post pictures of that! Daddy will FINALLY have a chance to put together your cribs on Sunday, so once that is done and Mommy hangs the pictures on your wall, all will be done! Then Mommy can sneak you a preview of your room on here!

Anyways, now for the pictures of the pictures Mommy made you:

Aren't they neat?! Mommy was so proud of herself! I hope you boys love them.

Anyways, it's time for Mommy to go. I am going to try to catch a power nap before I Have to get up in about 45 minutes to shower and get ready for our day! You two be good boys and cooperate for Mommy today so I can get some more adorable pictures of you both, ok? But most of all, please grow, be healthy, and stay in Mommy's belly for at least 8 more weeks ok? That would be the best Christmas present you could ever give Mommy!

I love you more than you know.

Love always,
Mommy!

The Weather Outside is Frightful, but You Boys are so Delightful!

Dear Aj & Jaydyn,

Hello again from Mommy. I just wanted to write a quick letter to let you know that your Baby Shower was a success even though a nasty winter storm decided to blow through the same day of your little party! The party was wonderful and your Papaw and Karen did such a great job! (I think Karen did most of the planning and put Papaw to good use for labor! lol) You both got quite a bit of stuff. The highlights of some of the things we got were:a gift card to Wal Mart (from Uncle Verlie & Aunt Tammy), a gift card to Babies R Us and wipes (from Sasha, Donnie, Raylynn, and Grey), baby monitors so Mommy can hear your better (from cousin Salli & Tiffany and Uncle Sonny & Aunt Charlene), a Pack n Play (from Karen, Penny, & Kasey), tons of clothes from everyone who came, and tons of baby bath stuff and wipes! You two and Mommy are so blessed to have so many people who care about us! Mommy will post a full list of everything you two got when she gets it from Papaw's house so that we can thank everyone here on your blog for being so generous and wonderful to you!

Mommy still has a few things to buy, and then you will be all set. Unfortunately things didn't go as planned with putting your cribs together and so that will be delayed until this weekend! And our ultrasound is coming up Friday, so Mommy will have lots of pictures to post on Saturday, including how big her belly is now! And of course pictures of your puppy dogs that are waiting to meet you!

Mommy is really finding it hard to believe that in 8-10 short weeks, I won't be writing letters to you anymore because you both will be here in my arms. Instead, I'll be printing these letters to you out, and making them into your very own books to read when you get older! I have to admit, I'm getting very anxious now to meet you, but I also am not quite ready yet to have you here. I still have so much to finish up!

Anyways, that's another letter for another time. Mommy is going to go for now. I'll be writing again to you later on this week or weekend to tell you all about our exciting visit on Friday!

I love you so much. Keep growing, keep getting strong for Mommy, and keep kicking me (I love that feeling).

Love always and forever,
Mommy

Our Appointment!

Dear Aj & Jaydyn,

Mommy here, updating you on our appointment today as promised! Everything went super well and I was so excited to get all the good news that we did today!

So the nurse confirmed that I have indeed only gained 6 pounds, 4 of which were gained in just this past month! So they are super pleased with the weight gain and say that I am right on target! They also checked Mommy's blood pressure, and it was 118 over 80, which is normal! Yay for that! The doctor measured Mommy's belly and told me that right now, my belly at 25 weeks 6 days is the size of a Mommy who only has one baby in her belly at 34 weeks! That means you guys are making Mommy HUGE! But I love every minute of it and I love all your kicks and punches! They're amazing and I'm going to miss them!

They also were able to find your heart beats again, which I'm convinced is one of my most favorite sounds in the world. Aj, your heartbeat was 153 and Jaydyn your heartbeat was 148! Both of you are doing well!

But perhaps the most exciting part for Mommy is that now we start seeing the doctor every 2 weeks AND we have an ultrasound coming up before Christmas! How exciting! I can't wait to see you again and see how much you both weigh!!! Our next appointment is on the 17th of December, and we have an aweful lot of stuff to do. First, they're going to make Mommy drink a super sugary drink (which I'm sure will cause you both to be very hyper in Mommy's belly) and check her for something called Gestational Diabetes. Basically it's when a Mommy's sugar levels get to high while she's got her baby (in my case babies) in her belly! Then once I drink the drink, I have to go to the ultrasound area and have our ultrasound done! (YAY) Then, once we leave there, we go see the doctor to discuss the ultrasound, be measured, have our blood pressure taken and give some more samples, then we head back to the lab so they can take some of Mommy's blood to see how her body reacts to the sugary drink! All in all it's going to be a very very busy visit! But so worth it! You boys are worth it!

So that's the update for now. We're getting closer and closer to your entrance to the world! I just can't believe that in less than 3 months, my dream of having children will finally be coming true! I thank God that He saw fit to answer my prayers! You both are precious answered prayers to me!

Anyways, I'm going to go for now! In my next post, I'm going to introduce you to Mommy's other babies...your puppy dog pets! See how spoiled you are already? Most kids have to beg for pets, but you two already have two puppy dogs waiting on you!

I love you so much! Grow grow grow and I'll see you on December 17th!

Hugs and kisses and smooches and love,
Mommy

Less than 100 days to go!

Dear Aj & Jaydyn,

How exciting is it that Mommy can write this and say that in less than 100 days, I'll be holding you both in my arms, smothering you with smooches and love! I simply can not wait!

More exciting things have happened since my last letter to you both. We've officially hit the 3rd trimester and 6th month mark, and boy is Mommy getting bigger and bigger! Mommy has also officially gained 6 pounds! But according to all the information I'm reading, you two make up about 3lbs of that 6 lbs gain total, and that doesn't include the amniotic fluid you both are swimming around in or that placenta that each of you have that is providing you nutrition through your umbilical cord!

Your Daddy and his brother Jessie (Uncle Jessie as you guys will be calling him) got your room painted as well and it looks AMAZING! It's a muted/dusty blue color called Windsurf! It goes great with the bedding sets we have picked out for you both! Also, your Papaw paid for your mattresses to go in your cribs, so I ordered them today! I'm so excited I can not WAIT for them to get here! Papaw also gave you boys a dresser for your room, so Mommy will have plenty of space to put your clothes away! Putting your room together is going to be so much fun! It will also take a load of Mommy's mind to be able to walk in there and see everything in it's place just waiting for you both!

Karen and Penny (whom you both will be meeting very soon) are also throwing a baby shower, which is like a little welcoming party for you guys before you get her, for Mommy! It's going to be December 12th and Mommy is very excited! I can't wait to see all the great things that people are going to be bringing for you! Everyone is so excited to meet you, but I don't think anyone is as excited as me! I just can't wait to hold you both in my arms!

Anyways, that's the update for now. Mommy goes to the doctor on the 2nd and will have another update then.

I love you both so much. Grow babies grow!

Until my next letter...

Love always,
Mommy

Where is the time going?

Dear precious and beautiful baby boys,

Mommy here. I had planned on writing sooner, but unfortunately things have been way too busy, as usual. I'm hoping that after Christmas things slow down. So much has happened though, and I can't wait to tell you all about it.

First and foremost, everything went GREAT at our ultrasound on the 4th! Unfortunately neither of you were very cooperative though. And you actually played tricks on the ultrasound tech by changing how you were hanging out inside Mommy's belly in the middle of the ultrasound. But they did manage to get Mommy some 3-D pictures of your faces, and both of you are so handsome I can't stand it. Here you both are:

Photobucket

Photobucket

AJ this is you! You were more cooperative about letting us see your adorable little face than your brother Jaydyn was :)

Photobucket

And Mr. Jaydyn this is you! You both are so very very handsome! Look at those adorable faces!

So everything looked great, and they sent us on our way. Mommy goes back to the doctor on December 4th @ 3:00 but it's just a regular check up this time, so Mommy won't get to see you before Christmas.

Your room is coming along wonderfully! Daddy is getting ready to start painting it a beautiful blue color, your Aunt Michelle bought both of you your very own crib, Mommy and Daddy bought you your crib set for your cribs, Mommy also made you some cute art work to match the blankets we bought you, and all I have to do once Daddy gets done painting is to set the room up and buy your dresser. I'll post pictures of what we have for your nursery here shortly! You both are going to have just the cutest room ever!

Mommy realized she hasn't put a picture up of her or Daddy to show you since she started writing you letters. So I thought I would post a picture for both of you to see and keep if you wanted to.Photobucket

This is Mommy and Daddy on our 4th Wedding Anniversary!

Isn't he the best? He can't wait to meet you! And I can't believe we're so close to meeting you. Mommy was 23 weeks along yesterday, which means we've only got about 13 weeks to go! Mommy can't believe it. It seems like time has just flown by! I'm so excited, and nervous about your arrival. I want to be the best Mommy I can be to both of you. I love you both so much!

Anyways, there's a quick update on how things are going. I'll be writing you again before your arrival. I love you both so much. Keep getting big and strong in there for Mommy and Daddy. We want you to be as healthy as you can possibly be that way we can avoid a NICU stay (if that's God's will for you and us)!

Til next time...

I love you always,
Mommy

See You Thursday!

Dear AJ & Jaydyn,

Mommy just wanted to write you a quick letter because she felt like writing this evening. I wanted to let you both know even though my last letter was written a while ago (at least it seems that way to Mommy), I promise I'll be writing another letter before next weekend rolls around. We have an appointment coming up this Thursday and I am very excited because I will get to see you both again since the doctor has ordered another ultrasound. This also means Mommy has to hold her pee again. And since you Mister AJ like to kick Mommy in the bladder when it gets too full, that should be very interesting to say the least. Especially considering the fact that your little kicks are getting stronger.

Also, it just so happens that November 4th is a very special day! See Papaw's 46th Birthday is also November 4th. And since Papaw is so adamant that your Mommy doesn't buy him anything (even though she realllllly reallllly wants to) I've got a different plan :) One I know Papaw will go for! I really hope he'll be surprised

I can't wait to see you both Thursday, you both will be one day shy of 22 weeks old. I wanted to update you on your growth during that week, considering I haven't done that for a while!

Anyways this week your 21 weeks old. So your growth this week is:

-By now you should be about 16.5 ounces- just over a pound!!
-REM, called Rapid Eye Movement, which is essential for good sleep has developed.
-Your skin is red, wrinkled, and see through.
-You're finally starting to gain your "brown fat"
-You are 6.5 to 7.25 inches long!
-You are about the size of a grapefruit!

We're moving right along boys! I can't wait to see you both. Keep growing, and I'll see you on Thursday!

Love you always,
Mommy

20 weeks! We're halfway there!

Dear AJ & Jaydyn,

Hello to Mommy's two very handsome little men! Yesterday was the mark of a special occasion, but seeing as how Mommy has been a little sick, I didn't get the chance to write you a letter about it. So here I am, a day late, but still here never the less, to tell you our exciting news! And the big news is: WE'RE HALFWAY THERE!

That's right boys! Yesterday was the 1/2 way marker in Mommy's pregnancy... 20 whole weeks!! Which means you will be here in approximately another 17-20 weeks! How exciting is that? I can not wait to hold you in my arms!

Also, I just wanted to let you know we're on quite the roll to having everything you'll need upon arrival. Thanks to Papaw, Karen,Daddy and I, and our friends Holly & Tony, we've nearly got everything you need as far as the big stuff goes. So far we have both car seats, a changing table, two bouncers, two swings, two exer-saucers (which you won't use til later but they're great to have in the mean time),your bathtub, and the majority of your diapers for the first few months of your life! Really all Mommy has left to get is:

-2 cribs
-2 crib sets
-extra crib sheets
-wipes
-more clothes (you've already been given some by friends which is exciting)
-baby bath products
-baby hygiene kit
-breast pump
-boobie juice bags
-bottles
-pacifiers
-breast feeding pillow (just in case)
-some more blankets
-onsies
-little shoes
-diaper bag

Really in Mommy's book, that's not a lot even though it looks like it is! Now your Daddy and I just have to find the time to paint your bedroom and start setting things up! I am so excited I just can't stand it!

Anyways, Mommy is going to keep this short, just because our last few letters have been so long! I just wanted to say I am so proud of you both for being strong little boys and making it to the half way point! I'm also thankful to God that He's blessed us with two healthy little boys. I love you both more than you know! Keep growing and I'll see you soon.

Love always and forever,
Mommy

Tests, who needs 'em?

Dear Aj & Jaydyn,

Good morning, Mommy here! It's been a crazy couple of days but I wanted to write a letter to you that I've been thinking of writing for a very long time. But before I get started, Mommy wanted to let you know something. That when you get older, (although I pray the rapture comes before you guys head to kindergarten, lol) no matter what life throws at you, just remember to stop, look around, look at the things money can't buy, and remind yourself you're blessed.

Our weekend hasn't been so great. Your Daddy's car started falling apart Friday as I was headed home from work, and then on Sunday as we were headed to drop off Daddy's car to be fixed and then head to church, Mommy's car got a flat tire...So we drove Daddy's broken car, very carefully, to church. When I got there I found Papaw and just had a good cry. He said come over and he would try to fix Mommy's flat tire after we were all done at church. So after church, we headed home to get started on putting the doughnut on drive Mommy's car to Papaws house. So once we got all of that done, and got to Papaw's house with the broken tire, he managed to fix our tire so we would have to go buy a new one that at this point we just can't afford. (Mommy and Daddy are something called broke. You'll learn what that is all too soon unfortunately) Your Papaw can seriously fix just about ANYTHING! So after we left Papaw's, we went home to get Daddy's car to drop it off at our cousin's house to be fixed. Once we got there, we went inside to visit with them for about an hour, and when we came outside, Daddy's noticed Mommy's car had a HUGE dent in it that wasn't there before. Turns out someone visiting a neighbor next door backed into our car, and then just left. So then we had the call the police and now we're waiting for the cops to find the person who did it. (See how terrible growing up can be, that's why you should just stay little forever and let Mommy and Daddy deal with the adult world drama for you.) And finally when we got home, we found out the kitchen sink has a leak.

But I told you that story to remind you to always look around and realize your blessed. Even though Mommy needed a good cry, and was pretty upset...it could always be worse. I realized that we still have food on our table, our house may have a few problems, but it is our home and we're cozy here in it, we still have clothes on our backs, shoes on our feet, and most importantly, we all still have our health and eachother. Your Daddy and I are healthy and together and in love, you two boys are growing right on target and still letting Mommy know you're ok in there with your kicks, and jabs, and punches... no matter what leaks and what gets smashed in, as long as we've got our health and eachother and we love and serve the Lord, we are so very very blessed.

So anyways, now that Mommy's told you all of that, the reason I wrote you this letter. The title says it all. Tests, who needs 'em. When you boys were about 11 weeks old, the doctor's nurse asked me at an appointment if I would like to have any genetics tests done for you two. Mommy didn't even think twice about her answer, it was no. No, No, No, NO! My boys would have plenty of tests they'd have to pass in life as it came, but until you were here on the outside world with Mommy, I could protect you from those tests and I intended to do just that.

But there was another reason Mommy said no. See I had always said before I got pregnant that I would do EVERYTHING and every test I could to make sure my baby (little did I know it would be babies) was safe and sound in my belly. If that meant doing all the tests I could to know that everything was alright in there, I would. And then I even thought I'd be willing to undergo amniocentesis for my baby (or babies). But then, I met an adorable little guy by the name of Max. Max Charles Martin to be exact. You'll be meeting him too once your here, and I really hope you boys become the best of friends with him. Anyways, Max was born very unique, very special, and the exact way that God wanted him to be born. Just like you will be born very unique, very special, and exactly the way God wants you to be. Anyways, when Max was born, he taught me something very important. Something I thought I already knew...and that something is that love is all that matters. Love for the Lord, love for your child (in my case children), love for your family (even if they are a little crazy on occasion) is absolutely ALL that matters. Max may not be perfect to some people, but to us, to me, to God, to his Mommy, he's absolutely perfect. And he is the one who taught me that no matter what tests say, no matter what the outcome is, it's ok... because I still have so much love for you both already! And the best part is, he's only about 4 months old. So he didn't even have to talk to teach Mommy such a big lesson! Pretty cool huh?

I'm excited for when you two will be old enough to play with him at church and at friend's houses. I'm sure if you become close enough friends he'll have some cool stories to tell you about!

So anyways, that is the story of why Mommy didn't want any prenatal tests done with you. Because a special little guy named Max taught me that tests don't matter anyways, cause I'll love you no matter what the outcome of those tests would or would not have been.

So now that the big important part of our letter is out of the way, Mommy also wanted to tell you that I"m feeling you become more active in there each and every day and I love it. Although it worries me that you two seem to be night owls, as most of the time kicks, jabs, and punches seem to at night when Mommy is getting ready to go to sleep. Rotten little babies that you are already. Anyways, I'm going to finish our letter for now!

I love and need you both more than you know! Keep growing and getting healthy for Mommy, and I'll see you soon.

Love Always,
Mommy

Our Boys!

Dear Baby Boys,

Although I love calling you my miracle babies, and to me you always will be, I also love that I can now call you my Baby Boys. My two wonderful, amazing, beautiful, and perfect baby boys.

As promised, I wanted to write you and tell you all about our big appointment to find out what the both of you were. October 8th, 2010. 9:30 am. It was the day I had been waiting for since the beginning of September. I knew it was the beginning of so many things for your Daddy and I. It was the beginning of deciding on names, deciding on the nursery theme, deciding on the color we would paint your room... But it was also the beginning of Mommy allowing herself to feel like this was and is real. To Mommy, the fact that God answered our prayers and heard our cries for you left Mommy feeling like it was a dream when I found out God had given both of you to us! But finally being able to see you, to call you both by your names, to know we're nearly half way there and in just a few short months I'll be holding you in my arms...I can finally say all of that is feeling so very real! And I can not wait and I thank God for that.

Anyways. So the morning started off very early for Mommy. Around 6:30 am I do believe. Partly due to excitement, and partly due to the fact that the night before, one or both of you boys had made Mommy crave jalepenos and unfortunately, you made Mommy crave WAY too many of them. So Mommy was up mostly because she felt sick. So after I took a zofran (nausea medicine), ate two tums, and prayed for God to make some of my pain go away, I finally decided to give up and start getting ready at around 7:30. I took a bath and got out and did my hair. Once I was all done it was about 8:15 and I decided it was time to wake Daddy up so that he could get ready too! I was still in a lot of pain from digestive issues (I don't think we'll be eating jalepenos for a very long time even though you make me crave them nearly every day!)

Daddy got ready and we were off. The doctor's office is about 35-40 minutes from where we live, so by the time we got there, it was nearly time to go in for the appointment. Mommy and Daddy were meeting a very special lady there, who your Papaw is quite fond of, by the name of Karen. Just as a little secret between you guys and Mommy, I'm really hoping Karen sticks around and happens to fall in love with your Papaw. I know that she would bet the kind of Nana that I would want my little boys to have in their life! Anyways, I called Karen to see if she was there, and she was! She said she would meet us by the front doors. So Mommy told Daddy we were ready to head in.

We got out of the car and headed to the front doors, when much to my surprise not only was Karen there, but your Papaw was there!! He had surprised Mommy and taken a vacation day at work so he could be there to see you both! I was so very very excited to see him. Your Papaw is my Daddy, and he and I have always been very very close. To say the least, your Mommy is very much so a Daddy's girl! Anyways, we all headed in, Mommy checked in, and we headed to the ultrasound waiting area.

We sat there waiting and I kept praying my belly would calm down so I wouldn't have to run to the bathroom before and during the ultrasound! Plus it didn't help that Mommy had to have a full bladder so that they could see both of you better. Boy did Mommy have to pee. Anyways, I said another quick prayer and about 4 minutes later, they called us back! We headed into the small room, Mommy laid down on the table and our ultrasound tech got right to work, while your Daddy, Papaw, and Karen watched.

First she turned off the lights so we could see better, tucked a towel in my pants, and then squirted my belly with goopy warm jelly. She then put her transducer in the jelly and rubbed it around Mommy's belly. She showed Mommy her cervix and her bladder first, and from there we started to get a good look at you Baby Boy A!

She showed us so many beautiful pictures of you. Your little legs, your little head, your arms, and feet. You were so squirmy that even our ultrasound tech said you were a little wiggle worm! And then she asked us if we wanted to know the gender. I said very much so! So then she went to find out what you were! And apparently you weren't trying to hide it at all! You had both legs wide open, and were spread eagle for the whole wide world to see! And what a sight to see! You were definitely a little Baby Boy! She even was able to tell us that you weighed 7 whole ounces! Then when she was all done looking at you and taking more beautiful pictures of you and your liver and stomach, she headed on towards your brother!

Baby Boy B, you were hanging out next to Mommy's belly button, unlike your brother who was sitting much lower in Mommy's Belly! Once they found you, the ultrasound got right to work repeating many of the same pictures that she had with your brother. We saw your little arms, legs, hands, feet, and head. Then she set to work trying to figure out what you were! And you were not quite a willing to share your goods as your brother was! You had your legs crossed and was intent on not showing us your family jewels. The tech said that she would come back to it and then took a few more pictures! My most favorite picture she took of you and your brother were your profile pictures, or the pictures where we saw you from the side. You were apparently very happy and content in there because we got to see you sucking your litle thumb! I will never forget how adorable that was! I was so in love with you and your brother and just getting to see both of you in there, happy, healthy, and handsome made Mommy so very happy! So anyways, after we got the cute pictures of you, the tech wiggled on Mommy's belly, and Abracadabra!! you opened your little legs to reveal what it was you were carrying! Mommy could clearly see you were a boy, as could everyone else! But you were not as cooperative for the tech to get a picture to prove you were indeed Mommy's little boy! Finally she got a good picture and then told Mommy everything looked good. She told Mommy based on your measurements you weighed 8 ounces!

She also did some measurements of the amniotic fluid that you boys are each hanging out in, as well as the placenta that each of you have! She said everything look wonderful, which made Mommy again, very very happy!

Then she cleaned Mommy's belly, printed some pictures, and sent us all on our way to the next stop of the day, the appointment with our doctor! I let Papaw and Karen hold on to the pictures, and we all spent the next few minutes in the waiting room on cloud 9! We were staring and cooing over your pictures, and I don't think I've ever seen your Papaw smile so much in his life!

Mommy and Daddy went into the appointment, where the doctor looked at our ultrasound pictures and said everything looked great! He said he wasn't even going to poke on me or you guys because everything looked so good. He also recommended Mommy get her flu shot, which I did even though I was a little scared of. So once they gave Mommy her shots, they sent me on my way to make another appointment! The doctor said we would be doing another ultrasound next time, which really excites Mommy because that means I'll get to see you again!

So after wards, Mommy, Daddy, Papaw, and Karen all went out for Chinese to celebrate, and we all ate to our hearts desire! After all the chatter at lunch and all the eating, we headed our separate ways. Papaw and Karen went to Karen's house, and Daddy and I came home. Although I still feel like we floated home on a cloud because Mommy was so happy.

So that's the story of how we found out what you were! We've already got our names picked out for you!

Baby A- You will be named after your Daddy. Your name will be Angel Luis Garcia IV, but so Mommy doesn't get confused, I'm going to call you AJ for Angel Junior!

and

Baby B- You will be named with a "J" name after Mommy, and your middle name will be after your Papaw, my Daddy. Your name will be Jaydyn Timothy Garcia.

Angel, your name means messenger of God, and Jaydyn, your name is Hebrew for Jehova (God) has heard. Which is so very true! God has heard my prayers for both of you and sent you both to me as little messengers to remind me that He is always faithful to answer prayers!

I love you both so very very much! We're nearly 1/2 way there and it won't be long til I'll be holding you in my arms. But for now I'll just have to wait to see you again during our next ultrasound...and that will be on November 4th (Your Papaw's Birthday) at 3:30pm! You will be 22 weeks old and both of you will nearly weigh a pound each! I can not wait until then!

I love you both, and keep growing to be strong healthy baby boys! And just for the record, since you give Mommy so much heartburn, you both had better have a TON of hair! :)

Love you Always and Forever,
Mommy

P.S. Since this is such a long letter, Mommy will post another one right after it to show you both the pictures of yourselves!

Team Blue x 2!

Dear Miracle Babies,
Well it's official! Today was the day where Mommy and Daddy got to find out what you were! Mommy really wants to write an elaborate entry about this but I'm so tired from being up since 6:30 this morning and the days exciting events, that I figured I'll announce it to you now and tell you the awesome story tomorrow :)

So anyways, as if you didn't know already, you both are little boys! Baby A, you were definitely not shy about letting Mommy and Daddy see your little bird! You had it proudly on display and it made Mommy chuckle! And Baby B, the ultrasound tech had to wiggle you around a bit to make you uncross your legs so Mommy and Daddy could get a good look between the legs. You're Mommy's modest little man!

Anyways, I'm so very excited to get things rolling for the both of you now! I am so thankful to be your Mommy and can't wait to be holding you both in my arms very very soon! I'll post pictures tomorrow but for now....sleep!

Goodnight my handsome and beautiful little men! Keep growing for Mommy! I love and need you more than you already know :)

Love always,
Your Mommy!

11 days and counting!

Dear Miracle Babies,

We're getting closer and closer every day to finding out what the both of you are! I am so excited and can not wait. I almost wish I had a video camera to go with me to the ultrasound so that I could tape your Daddy's reaction when the Tech tells him what you are!

On a sad note, I've not felt either of you be very active in a while. Which makes Mommy worry a little bit and kinda makes me sad. With you moving around in there, I know that you're ok and everything is going good. So if you don't mind, why not give your Mommy a little peace of mind and kick something, at this point, ANYTHING to let me know you're ok. I'll even take you kicking Mommy in the bladder and making me pee on myself at this point just to know everything is ok. I think I'm almost as excited for being able to see you two are ok and to see those little hearts beating at the ultrasound as I am to find out what you are. But I suppose this is the beginning of worrying about you both for the rest of my life! :)

I love you both so much and continue to thank God for you! You are my little miracles and I just can't wait to meet you both.

Love always,
Mommy

Loving You Both So Much!

Dear Miracle Babies,

Good morning you two! You both are 15 weeks and 5 days old today and already I can tell a little bit about each of the personalities that you two have!

One of you is sitting on the right side of Mommy's Belly, and Baby B, I am assuming that is you. Well, let me just tell you this, you are Mommy's very active little one and I am absolutely loving it. Although it does make Mommy worry that once you get here, that you are going to be Mommy's rotten little handful. Last night, just before bed, you decided you were going to kick and kick Mommy and do what I am pretty sure is flips in Mommy's belly! And to my little one on the right side of my tummy, I'm assuming Baby A, you are Mommy's calm and laid back little one. You don't move too much at all in comparison to your brother or sister who spent about 10 minutes showing me their moves and kicking abilities last night. Each of you is so distinct and unique! I just can't wait to meet you face to face and learn so much more about you.

Anyways, we're quickly approaching 16 weeks, and I wanted to tell you about how much you'll be growing during your 16th week of life.

16 weeks:

* The fetus measures nearly 5 inches (12cm) from head to buttocks.
* The fetus weighs about 3.5 ounces (100 grams).
* The fetus is covered with a protective soft down to regulate its temperature.
* Fat begins to form underneath skin.
* Baby hears external voices, sleeps and dreams.

Your baby has learned to breathe. This is apparent from the regular movements of his chest, inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid. These actions help the lungs to develop and grow. More developed facial muscles may lead to various expressions, such as squinting and frowning. Your baby now weighs more than their afterbirth. The baby can grasp with his hands, kick, or even somersault.

You are showing more now and have an obvious swelling in your lower abdomen. The rest of your body is still changing. A total of 5 to 10 pound (2.25 to 4.5 kg) weight gain by this point in your pregnancy is normal.

The crown to rump length of your baby is 4.4 to 4.8 inches (11 to 12 cm). Fetal weight has doubled in 2 weeks and is about 3.5 ounces (100g).

You both are changing and growing so much, it's no wonder that Mommy is still so tired.

I love you both so very much. Be good and continue to grow big and strong for Mommy, and feel free to keep kicking Mommy like crazy! I love being able to feel you two :)

I love you always,
Mommy

I felt you!

Dear Miracle Babies,

Sorry Mommy is a little late in writing this letter to you. It has been very busy at our house and I am just now finding time to sit down and tell you this exciting news! On September 9th, Mommy felt one of you move for the first time. Baby B, I'm pretty sure it was you! You were actually very very active! It was the neatest feeling in the world. It felt like little flutters or rumbles in Mommy's belly, right where the doctors found you at when we went to our appointment! It was such an indescribable feeling and you definitely made Mommy's day! And Baby A, you decided to squirm around in Mommy's belly the next day and made me so very very happy! Knowing you both are in there and doing well makes Mommy so very thankful and so very blessed! God has blessed me with you two and I don't ever want to fail to thank Him for that.

This letter isn't a long one but it is one Mommy wanted to make sure she shared with you and that she had to read later so she could remember the special occasion! Mommy can not wait to meet you both and I love both so very very much.

Love always,
Mommy.

Update!

Dear Miracle Babies,

Mommy is writing to update you on how our last appointment went! Our appointment was on Tuesday (9.7.10) at 13 weeks and 4 days! It wasn't a very eventful appointment, but the most exciting thing was listening to your little heart beats! Baby A your heart beat was 160 and Baby B your heartbeat was 154. Since telling everyone your heartbeats, I've had lots of people say their guess is you are two little girls, or one little boy and one little girl. But that leads me to the best part of yesterday's appointment...we finally scheduled the ultrasound to let us know what you are! So, if the two of you cooperate, on October 8th, we will be able to stop calling you Baby A and Baby B and start calling you by your names! I am so very very excited and can not wait. You two will be 18 weeks old when we find out! How exciting! I scheduled the ultrasound for 9:30 in the morning that way Daddy can go with us! He is very excited too :)

As far as how Mommy is feeling, I'm feeling okay. I did have to stop to go throw up while writing this letter to you, but it's the first time I've thrown up in a long time. Normally my zofran helps keep the throwing up away. But this nausea came so suddenly that there was no choice but to empty my stomach. I must say though, I do feel better after puking and brushing my teeth. I actually want to take a nap now that I think of it. But sleeping is something Mommy does a lot of these days!

Your Daddy is such a great guy. As soon as he heard me getting sick today, he came to rub my back and even cleaned up after me when I was all done. You both are so very blessed that God has given you such a great Daddy! I can't wait for you to meet him!

Well Mommy is going to go rest a little more. I have to make Daddy some lunch, and get ready for work here shortly.

I love you both so very very much and am counting down the days til we see you again!

Love always,
Mommy

P.S. Feel free to start moving around a kicking a little bit in there any time soon! Mommy can't wait to feel you two moving around in there! Just be nice to one another! No punching or kicking or hitting one another. I love you.

Cheeseburgers and Milkshakes

Dear Miracle Babies,

We are inching closer and closer each day to finally getting to meet each other! I am very excited and can not wait!

I weighed myself today to see if I have gained any weight since becoming pregnant with you two and it's safe to say I have not gained any weight at all. That excites Mommy a little, because it means hopefully I won't have a ton of baby weight to loose once you guys are here, but it also makes me a little nervous knowing that there are two of you in there and I've not gained any weight. I want you both to be healthy more than anything!

Today started off a little rough for Mommy. I ate 1 pack of bananas n cream oatmeal, 2 pieces of toast, and a small cluster of green grapes with a glass of milk this morning in hopes of getting in our grains, a fruit serving, and a dairy serving this morning. Unfortunately, shortly after breakfast Mommy started feeling super sick and had to take some medicines to make her nausea stop and help her keep breakfast down. So I finally started feeling better and just got super hungry a little bit ago.

So of course, when I got hungry I had a huge craving for something spicy, a cheese burger, a milk shake and some onions rings! So I decided to go up town to Dairy Queen and get a flamethrower burger, onion rings, and a blueberry milkshake! (Cheeseburgers seem to be a recent and more often than expected craving) But now Mommy is paying a little for it as I'm starting to feel sick again. And unfortunately I can't take another pill to help my nausea for a while. But as always, Mom is okay with it because you both are so worth it.

We are one week away from our next appointment together and Mommy is looking forward to it! I'm pretty sure I should just expect the usual, which is normally a weigh in, urine sample, and listening to your little heartbeats. I'm hoping the doctor will decide to give me an ultrasound so I can see you again, or that he will let me know when our next one will be so I can start to count down the days when I will see you again!

Anyways, Mommy just wanted to check in. Things seem to be going slowly right now, but I know that they will pick up quickly when you both get bigger and Mommy gets farther along! And I know once things pick up, it will be no time before you are here.

I love you both so very very very much!

Love you forever,
Mommy

mmmm Oatmeal

Dear Miracle Babies,

Good Morning! This is, of course, your Mommy writing you again to let you know how the two of you and Mommy are doing! Tomorrow you both of you will be 12 weeks old, which is very exciting for Mommy, because it means only 1 week left until we are officially in the second trimester of pregnancy! Which means we are a third of the way closer to finally meeting you! Since you will be 12 weeks old, I of course wanted to tell you how much you will be growing again! Mommy has found this great website that tells her all of your developments week by week. Anyways, here is how you will be growing in your 12th week of life!

" The fetus is now about 2.5 inches (6cm) length and weighs about 0.7 ounce.
* The feet are almost half an inch (1cm) long.
* The fetus starts moving spontaneously.
* The face is beginning to look like a baby's face.
* The pancreas is functioning and producing insulin.
* Fingernails and toenails appear.
* The baby can suck his thumb, and get hiccups.

12 weeks From this week you may well be able to hear the baby's heart beat through a doppler monitor on your tummy. You will notice that the rate is up to 160 a minute, double that of a normal adult.

Your baby now has a chin and a nose and a facial profile. Vocal chords are complete, and the baby can and does sometimes cry silently. The brain is fully formed, and the baby can also feel pain. The fetus may even suck his thumb. The eyelids now cover the eyes, and will remain shut until the seventh month to protect the delicate optical nerve fibers. The hair is on the head and the fingers and toes have developed soft nails. The kidneys are developed and begin to secrete urine.

Your baby's size has almost doubled in the past 3 weeks."

I am so amazed at how much you are growing each week! I think my favorite part of this week is that fact that you both now have your vocal cords, can suck your thumb, and that your beautiful little faces are starting to look more and more like what they will be when Mommy finally meets you! What an exciting week!

However, Mommy would be a little bit more excited this week if she weren't so sick! You two must have really decided to give Mommy the what for yesterday, because I was so sick that all I was able to eat was 1 package of Ramen Noodles, and some raw carrots and raw sugar snap peas! So after having such a rough day, Mommy decided to call the doctor and make them give her some medicines so that she wouldn't feel nauseated anymore! I really want to take good care of you two while you are growing in there, and I really want to take care of me so I can be around a long time for you two, God willing! So after taking my medicine last night and going to bed, I woke up this morning so very ready to eat since none of us ate a lot yesterday. So I think this morning we will have some oatmeal.

Unfortunately though, even though Mommy isn't dealing with feeling nauseated anymore, Mommy is sick with what I think is a cold. My throat has been hurting for a couple of days now, and this morning, all my nose wants to do is run, and fill up with junk for me to blow out of it. Ewww! Anyways, hopefully Mommy is going to feel completely better here soon!

Our next appointment is on September 7th. I'm really hoping the doctor will let me see the both of you again! And if that's not in the plans, then I plan on trying to fit it into the plans because I really want to see you two again!

Anyways, that is all for this letter. Mommy's tummy is starting grumble because it is so hungry, so I think that's my signal that it's time to feed all of us!

I love you both so much already, and already can't imagine my life without you. All I want you two to do in there is grow, grow, grow, and become strong babies for Mommy.

I love you,
Mommy

P.S. Daddy is starting to get really excited about meeting the two of you. He has started putting his hand on my belly and talking to both of you already! And he's actually getting ready to let Mommy order the first thing for you, a crib! Just you wait til you both meet your Daddy! He is so funny and so very wonderful! God could not have given me a better Daddy for the two of you! Anyways, breakfast time. I love you!

What are you doing in there?

Dear Miracle Babies,

You've really got Mommy wondering just what it is your doing in there today, because I'm really not feeling well at all today! I went to bed last night after Daddy got home from work at midnight and didn't wake up til 11 am this morning. So you would think after 11 hours of sleep your Mommy would be well rested and ready to tackle the day, right? Wrong. After I got out of bed, not only was I still tired, but I started feeling a little sick to my stomach. I thought maybe you guys were hungry but since I was feeling so icky! So I got up and instead of my morning bowl of cereal I opted for some yogurt for breakfast. After we all ate breakfast, I was feeling flushed and hot, and got up to get a drink! Well when I got up to get a drink, Mommy must have gotten up too fast because she saw stars! So I got my water and sat back down. I still was feeling a little sick so I decided to try to eat some lunch a little later. After feeding you a bit of chips and queso dip, Mommy was still just not feeling well at all. So after deciding it was best to stay home and rest today, Mommy called work to let them know she was just not feeling well and wouldn't be in today. So we've spent the entire day on the couch resting, and I think you two are really liking being pampered! But the upset stomach hasn't gone away yet.

So I decided to get up and get a snack and write you this little letter to tell you guys, you should really enjoy our snack and settle down for a nap so Mommy can get just a little break, please?! Right now for snack we are having colby jack cheese, a banana, an apple, grapes, and some orange jello! But if you decide to not take nap, that's okay because even though you are being a little on the naughty side today, you are so worth it. We will just blame your little naughty streak that you are having today on your Daddy!

I can't wait until they let me see you both again! But tomorrow you will be 11 weeks old, so we are getting closer! I can't wait to see if you are a little boy and girl, or two little boys, or two little girls. So far everyone thinks that you are two little boys based on your heartbeats! But we will see. A lot of people think you are a boy and a girl too! But we will know for sure in about 9 more weeks!

I also thought it would be super neat to let you both know how big you are as of right now, and from here on out let you know how big you both are getting to be week by week.

Tomorrow you will be 11 weeks old, and as of right now each of you should be about 2 inches long and both of you should weight about 1/2 of an ounce each! You can swallow now, and your tooth buds are forming. Your little fingers and toes aren't webbed anymore, and your ears are starting to fall into place! You're already moving around even though Mommy can't feel you, and before I know it, you both will be kicking me! It amazes Mommy that you are you growing so fast in there! And I know when you get here, you'll still grow up faster than Mommy wants you to.

Anyways, that's it for this letter. If you two aren't planning on napping, Mommy is. That snack made me tired!

I love you both so very much!
Mommy

Dear Miracles

Well, so many people told me I should really keep a pregnancy journal and after thinking about it, I think it would be something fun! Not just for me, but for my kids to look back at later on in life to read. I'll probably only share this with close friends and family, but we'll see where it leads. Mostly I plan on making my posts more like letters to my kids. So with that in mind, I guess I'll get started.

Dear Miracle Babies,

This is my first letter to you, although it's not the first time I've thought of you. As a matter of fact, your Daddy and I have been trying to meet you since your Daddy and I got married in October of 2006. But getting to meet you wasn't as easy as we had hoped, planned, or dreamed.

See Mommy has something called PCOS, which stands for a big long word that you probably won't be able to pronounce til your 15. I know people who are 30 and still can't pronounce it! But in a nut shell, it's a syndrome that Mommy has that affects her hormone levels and her insulin levels and makes it so that Mommy's body doesn't work like most Mommy's bodies do. So in order to meet you, Daddy and I went to several different doctors til we finally found the one that thought meeting you wouldn't be as hard, difficult, or impossible as everyone else has said it would be. We met Dr. Bopp in January of 2010. Mommy had to go through some more testing, and was finally put on a pill that made my body work normally and a pill to help with my insulin levels. We started trying to have you in March, and finally found out in July that you were on your way.

I'll never forget that feeling I had knowing that God had finally given you to us. Your Daddy was in the living room and I was in the bathroom taking a test to find out if you were here yet. I sat there praying and when I looked up, our test had 2 pink lines on it, which meant that you were inside Mommy's belly and you had already started developing. I yelled for your Daddy, and when he got there, I showed him the test. We hugged, I cried, and then we called some very important people to tell them that you were on your way. Your Daddy called his Mom and Grandma, and I called my Dad, Mom, and text a best friend to tell them the good news. Everyone was very excited. I found out on July 3rd, which was a Saturday, and had my first Dr's appointment on Monday. They did some blood work to confirm you were definitely on your way and then they scheduled an ultrasound so we could get a good look at you! On July 25th, we got to see you for the very first time. And boy were we surprised.

Daddy and I went into the room where they were going to show you to us, and up until that point we thought there was only 1 of you in there. The doctor and two nurses came in, and we started looking at you. You were only 6.5 weeks old! The nurse told us there was one baby, then when she moved her tool a little bit, she told us there were 2 of you in there! I was so very very excited! I had prayed for so long for God to give me a baby, and he had blessed me with 2 babies! I couldn't believe it. Your Daddy on the other hand just said "shew" and smiled. He was speechless, literally! Then they let us hear the most beautiful sound in the world, your little beating hearts. At this point, we didn't know if you were boys or girls or one of each, so they only called you Baby A and Baby B! Baby A, your heart beat was 132 beats per minute. And Baby B, your heart beat was 127 beats per minute. I cried because I was so happy. Daddy was still speechless, but it was a happy speechless. After we talked to the doctor and got some pictures of you, we left.

Mommy had some pretty weird food cravings when you first started growing in her belly. I loved Spaghetti O's and Meatballs. Now the thought of them makes Mommy want to throw up. Other than being super tired though, I felt great the first 7 weeks that you were growing in there. Then something called Morning Sickness set it. Needless to say, every morning (and even noon and night) from the time you were 7 weeks old til you were 10 weeks old, Mommy felt like throwing up or did throw up. But you were worth it!

I can't wait to meet you. The doctors say you are supposed to come on March 11th, 2011, but that you will probably come a little bit earlier than that since there are two of you in there. Your Daddy and I are so excited to meet you and we just can't wait to hold you! You are an answered prayer from God and to Mommy, you are my Miracle Babies. I love you more than you know already! I'll keep on writing you these letters until you get here, and then when I do finally meet you, I may just keep this journal to tell you about all the changes you've had in your lives and that you've made in your Daddy's life and mine.

Love you forever,
Mommy
